FIRST Frenzy: Raising the Bar was the name for the 2003-2004 season FIRST Robotics game. This season saw the return of the autonomous mode, and a host of other features. For instance, the element of stairs was introduced. The use of IR sensors and an IR beacon made the autonomous mode more challenging. Hanging returned to the game from a previous year. And, most noteworthy, the Robot Controller switched from being powered by a Basic Stamp to using a PIC chip. The year marked continued growth in the program, and, corresponding to this, a change in how teams qualify for the National Championship.
